Sep 28, 2007: Swerve Festival

SWERVE FESTIVAL is a new annual festival dedicated to celebrating West Coast creative culture and its community inspired by art, film, music and action sports. The West Coast is the birthplace of many cultural movements that have had and continue to have an indelible impact on the world. The three-day celebration, an initiative of Fuel TV, will be held at the Barnsdall Art Park, Vista Theatre and EchoPlex to bring together this community of innovators and thinkers and to spotlight some of the most exciting work to come out of these creative disciplines.

SWERVE FESTIVAL programming includes screenings of independent feature and short films, music videos, live music performances and original art installations. Throughout the weekend, do-it-yourself workshops will provide visitors with hands-on filmmaking, screen printing, meet-the-artist sessions and CreateAskate’s workshops teaching participants how to make their own skateboards.
